Nova SBE will host the 9th edition of Economia Viva on April 2nd and 3rd. This year, the event will be dedicated to Gender Equality, Health, Real Estate, and Education.
The initiative — organized by the Nova Economics Club with the institutional support of Nova SBE—maintains its purpose of discussing the most pressing topics in Economic Science. Speakers from the different areas under analysis will take the stage to debate and foresee the economy's future nationally and internationally.

Ana Mendes Godinho (Former Minister of Labor, Solidarity, and Social Security in the last government), on the first day of the event (April 2), will take part in the panel 'An Effort for Equity - Inspired by the Journey of the Nobel Prize Woman in Economics 2023 - Claudia Goldin', which will also include the participation of Teresa Leão (Doctor specializing in public health, Coordinator of the ITR's Health and Policy Laboratory);

Nuno Crato (University Professor at ISEG and Minister of Education between 2011 and 2015), Carla Castro (Former Member of the Portuguese Parliament for the Iniciativa Liberal and Vice-Chair of the Education and Science Committee), and Rui Tavares (Free Member of the Portuguese Parliament and Lisbon City Councillor) are some of the other featured speakers on the second day of the event (April 3), who will discuss the future of education in Portugal in a panel entitled 'Future by the Book: What to expect for Portuguese education?’
Susana Peralta (Professor at Nova SBE and specialist in Public and Political Economy) will moderate the reflection on real estate in a panel on the theme 'No Way Home: The key to the struggle in the real estate market', in which speakers include Paulo Rodrigues (University Professor at Nova SBE, Senior Researcher at Banco de Portugal and Coordinator of the study 'The housing crisis in big cities' (FFMS), Vítor Reis (Architect and Former President of the Institute of Housing and Urban Rehabilitation), and Simone Tulumello (University Professor at ICS-Lisbon and Researcher in the areas of housing policies and urban policies).
Researchers Pedro Pita Barros and Eduardo Costa, specialists in Health Economics at Nova SBE, will lead the reflection on the past and present their visions for the future of health services in Portugal in a session dedicated to the theme 'Old problems, new solutions: decentralized health services—The public and private case'.
