Our Programs and Resources

New at Nova

New at Nova

New at Nova is an integration program that aims to facilitate the integration and adaptation of first-year bachelor’s students during their first semester at Nova SBE. It is designed to smooth academic, social and personal integration and enhance self-esteem. Buddies are students from the second and third years that volunteer to give support to a group of new students, and that through this program also have the chance to develop a great set of interpersonal skills while helping create a collaborative, open, and inclusive environment.

Peer Tutoring Program

Peer Tutoring Program

The Peer Tutoring program is a collaborative activity through which more experienced students provide complementary academic support to fellow students struggling with a specific course. The program's primary goal is to foster academic success while helping students develop effective studying techniques and unique interpersonal and academic skills.

Well-being psychology Support

Well-being psychology Support

The well-being psychology support service is conducted by clinical and coaching psychologists and is offered individually, as part of a group or in a workshop format, depending on the situation. Usually, students seek support for stress, anxiety, integration, and related issues that affect their academic journey and personal life. In more severe situations that require a long-term intervention, students are referred to other services/ partners such as Nova SBE CUF Clinic or NOVA University. The well-being psychology  support's goal is to help students develop skills and competencies to overcome difficulties and guarantee a more relaxed and successful journey. In compliance with the Code of Ethics of the Order of Portuguese Psychologists, this service is confidential and open to everyone.

Well-being workshops

Well-being workshops

The well-being workshops are a series of monthly workshops that aim to work as small discussion and sharing groups where it is possible to scale the training in socio-emotional skills to more students and promote contact and sharing between them.

The objectives are to explore a wide range of relevant themes that can have a positive impact on our everyday personal and professional lives, to help raise awareness in the school community through mental health literacy, and above all promote the personal development of students and help them identify certain symptoms that may be more worrisome and constitute an alert, as well as offering resources to deal with them. The sessions also work as a way for students to meet peers who have similar challenges, thus expanding their support base.

Thrive

Thrive

There is also a well-being platform – Thrive – through which the Nova SBE community can find tools to adopt a healthier lifestyle and resources crucial for mental health.
