ABOUT CÉU MATEUS
Professor of Health Economics at the Division of Health Research at Lancaster University, United Kingdom. She holds a Ph.D. in Public Health Economics, a master's degree in European Social Policy, and a bachelor's degree in Economics. She was an assistant professor of Health Economics at the National School of Public Health (2001-2014). She worked at the Institute for Informatics and Financial Management (now ACSS) of the Ministry of Health in the Information Systems Management Development department from 1995 to 2001, where she was the executive responsible for the Financing System/Diagnostic Related Groups Classification System. As a researcher, her work primarily focuses on the economic evaluation of health technologies, measurement of efficiency, equity, and quality of life. She is the president of the Portuguese Association of Health Economics (APES) and one of the founders of the European Association of Health Economics (EuHEA).
