Luis F. Martinez is Associate Professor of Marketing and Behavioral Science (with Habilitation | “Agregação” in Management) at Nova SBE, where he served as Academic Co-Director of the Master’s in Management (2019-2023). He earned his Ph.D. in Social and Behavioral Sciences from Tilburg University. He held Visiting Scholar positions at MIT Sloan, VSE Prague, and EM Strasbourg. Prior to joining Nova SBE, he was Assistant Professor at the Business School of Iscte – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa. He supervises Ph.D. and Master level theses and internships. He is currently serving as Associate Editor for the Electronic Commerce Research (Springer), Electronic Commerce Research and Applications (Elsevier), International Journal of Consumer Studies (Wiley), and Journal of Organizational Effectiveness: People and Performance (Emerald) and as editorial board member for the Journal of Consumer Behavior (Wiley), Sustainability Accounting, Management and Policy Journal (Emerald), and The International Journal of Human Resource Management (Taylor & Francis). His research work has appeared in the journals mentioned above and in other outlets such as Decision, Harvard Business Review, Journal of Business Research, International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, Journal of Economic Psychology, Cognition and Emotion, Stress and Health, Frontiers in Psychology, and PLOS One.
