Susana Peralta holds a PhD in Economics from the Université catholique de Louvain, in Belgium.
She is a specialist in Public Economics and Political Economy, with a special focus on taxation and fiscal federalism. She joined the Nova School of Business and Economics in 2004. Her work is published in academic journals such as The Economic Journal, the Journal of Public Economics and the Journal of Public Economic Theory. She has obtained funding from the Portuguese Science Foundation as Principal Investigator in several research projects.
She teaches or has taught several courses at Nova SBE, including Public Finance, Microeconomics, Ethics and Economic Policy, and Poverty: Concepts and Challenges. She also teaches Economics in Executive Education programs.
She has served as the academic director of the MSc in Economics, the Research Master, and the PhD in Economics. She is currently part of the managing committee of the PhD in Economics and Finance.
Susana Peralta has three children. She is a regular op-ed contributor to the Portuguese newspaper Publico.
