Luís Catela Nunes has a PhD in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA. He is a Full Professor at Nova SBE where he has served as President of the Pedagogical Council, Deputy Dean for Research, and Head of its Research Unit. In 2017 he launched the national research infrastructure, the Social Sciences DataLab (datalab.novasbe.pt). Currently, he is one of the scientific directors of Nova SBE´s Economics of Education Knowledge Center where he has coordinated projects such as “Is grade repetition beneficial for low achieving students?”, “Teacher’s impact on student learning”, “Inclusion and discrimination of immigrant students”, and “The demand and supply of teachers”. The results of his research have been published in prestigious international scientific journals.
