Nova SBE, the leading business school in Portugal, connects you with other students and professionals who can participate in your project and help you build it. As part of our community, you will have access to the best talent, not only through our recruitment platform but also to dedicated events and initiatives, such as: 

- The Matchmaking event: where you can meet other NOVA University Lisbon students willing to join new projects/businesses

- Startup Summer Experience: a five-week internship program where students solve a specific business challenge of a startup in a group 

- Nova SBE Career Fair:  an event where students meet recruiters, learn about job or internshipopportunities, and have exclusive networking moments. Startups and scaleups recruiting are also welcome to participate and meet this talented pool of future leaders. 

- Student-Led Projects: Take advantage of opportunities to join class projects like Digital Marketing or Advanced Branding and Brand Development. Additionally, Nova SBE offers around 40 student clubs, some focusing on consulting projects and others on the entrepreneurial ecosystem, organizing events and hands-on learning experiences. You may also benefit from a master’s thesis' study developed by our Master's students (65% of which are international).

According to your needs and your project's development stage, you will have the opportunity to meet mentors with different experiences and backgrounds who are willing to share insights with you. You can also book a periodic meeting with our team.  

- One-on-one guidance sessions with the Nova SBE Haddad Entrepreneurship Institute and members from the Nova SBE community to help you take your first steps as an entrepreneur 

- Workshops on Minimum Viable Products, Sales, Growth, and other topics will help you validate your business idea; 

- Mentoring or advising sessions from top national and international professionals. We have a dedicated mentoring program where we put you in contact with the mentor/advisor that best matches your challenges; 

- Participating in our acceleration programs

Nova SBE hosts several events on the Carcavelos Campus. These can consist of community meetups, pitch days', acceleration programs, conferences, talks, connections to corporate partners, etc., so you can build a valuable network.

Nova SBE also has a network of investors with whom the Nova SBE Haddad Entrepreneurship Institute has a closer relationship. Through our events and pitch sessions, startups can connect with Venture Capital firms and Business Angels, fostering valuable relationships for future investment and growth.

Acceleration Programs

Check-in

Check-in is an open innovation program developed by Nova SBE and sponsored by Turismo de Portugal.

Its target is late-stage startups looking to scale their businesses through addressing key challenges for SMEs and engaging in a pilot solution development for the tourism industry.

For 12 weeks, startups can capitalize on the interconnectedness of the key verticals of the tourism industry whilst using Nova SBE as a dynamic platform to co-create unparalleled products and services.

Madeira Startup Retreat

Madeira Startup Retreat offers a unique blend of startup acceleration and a relaxing retreat for Tourism & Travel startups. The program brings startups to Madeira each yearto reassess their business strategy, refocus their teams, and explore opportunities in Madeira and Portugal. This initiative is in partnership with Startup Madeira, a regional institution dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship and innovation through incubation, mentoring, and business development support.

FinTech Accelerator

An open innovation program for Fintech startups sponsored by eight prominent corporate partners. The Academy provides a secure and controlled space for experimentation, enabling the free exchange of ideas to co-create innovative financial products and services. Critical challenges addressed include the evolution of a digital ecosystem between banks, Fintechs, and third-party contributors, digitization of money, decentralized finance (DeFi), financial inclusion, customer experience, and security.

Gaming Startup Retreat

An accelerator dedicated to gaming entrepreneurship that offers a unique 6-week immersion program on Madeira Island. The program combines various gaming startups, equipping entrepreneurs with essential knowledge, tools, and benchmarking strategies to overcome critical challenges and drive their projects toward success.

Lighting up the stars Mentoring Program

Conceived to support entrepreneurs on several different topics and stages of development, the Lighting Up the Stars Mentoring  Program consists of a two months dynamic journey. Each startup has its mentor to provide guidance and support in specific challenges while talks, workshops, and networking moments are provided. 

Segie Incubator Program

The SEGIE incubation program is aimed at people who believe in the interconnection between the social economy and gender equality. This program follows the creation of inclusive and gender-sensitive businesses from idea to launch, providing tools and support during a continuous journey that includes 10 months of acceleration, monthly proposals in individual, collective and community formats, and significant monetary compensation for the three most outstanding projects.
