Nova School of Business & Economics has strengthened the historic partnership it holds with The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) – one of the most renowned consulting firms in the market. This collaboration intends to provide students the opportunity to know the work methodologies and the projects developed by BCG, in a rigorous and demanding context, to better prepare them for the professional world.

BCG thus strengthens its status as a renowned partner, having privileged access to Nova SBE’s global talent pool and focusing on the training and recruitment of students. With these goals in mind, several initiatives were developed – study trips, business forums, seminars, campus presentations, etc. – to help students develop their skills, think about their future early on, and expand their personal and professional network.

One of these initiatives is the BCG Case Challenge – a consulting project designed by BCG to solve a problem of a specific NGO, in which Nova SBE students work alongside BCG and the clients’ teams to develop concepts, analysis, and recommendations. This challenge allows students to interact directly with BCG consultants while working and supporting a social cause. This years’ edition approached catering business models for the company Vale de Acór.

“BCG and Nova SBE have always been close partners. We share a common interest in promoting and developing talent and we complement and support each other in this aspect. Recently, we have taken our partnership to a higher level following Nova SBE’s relentless quest for excellence. In this context, we have several initiatives underway to help students think about their future early on and expand their professional network making it easier for them to enter the marketplace.” – states Miguel Abecasis, BCG Senior Partner and Managing Director.
