The 2021 European Academy of Management (EURAM) Conference, a renowned forum that gathers academics, PhD students, and practitioners to advance the academic discipline of management and share their knowledge on topics falling within the conference's scope, took place on June 16-18, and Tobias Reichert, a Master's student at Nova School of Business & Economics (Nova SBE), got the unique chance to participate.

Tobias Reichert, a Master's in Management student at Nova SBE, was one of the academics participating in the 2021 EURAM Conference to discuss and find actionable solutions for reshaping capitalism. The event is organized by the European Academy of Management. It is primarily known for gathering different stakeholders – scholars, private and public companies, organizations, and policymakers – to promote real-time dialogue and foster knowledge.

The 2021 edition was organized in collaboration with Université du Québec à Montréal and, due to the pandemic, took place online, and had as its theme "Reshaping capitalism for a sustainable world." It built on the expertise of its panel to guarantee an attractive and high-quality program. Tobias was one of the selected authors with the conceptual paper Configuring strategizing practices in (Global) Virtual Teams: Key moderators and recommended patterns.

The paper, which was jointly developed by Tobias and his Bachelor's thesis supervisor, Professor Jasmin Mahadevan of Pforzheim University, Germany, suggests that global virtual teams, such as the ones emerging during the pandemic, can be understood as a micro-activity system within organizations and argues that the configuration of strategizing patterns is crucial for the success of global and non-global virtual teams while highlighting exemplary strategizing practices.

This was a unique opportunity for 25-yeard old Tobias Reichert, a German student from Leonberg who did his Bachelor's degree in International Management and Engineering at Pforzheim University, Germany, and whose academic interests predominantly center around strategy and organization, as well as cross-cultural management.

In his words, "When I submitted my Bachelor's thesis more than a year ago and continued my academic journey at Nova SBE, I could never have imagined presenting the results of my work at a scientific conference like EURAM 2021. The two main factors that supported me during this journey were the great mentoring and collaboration with Professor Dr. Jasmin Mahadevan, as well as Nova SBE's opportunity-creating and impact-oriented environment and community."
