In a time ruled by COVIDD-19, Nova School of Business & Economics (Nova SBE) received circa 3000 applications for its Master’s programs for the upcoming academic year, 60 % of which are international, a record number that reinforces the strong international presence and cutting-edge academic curriculum that the school offers.

Regarding the 2020/2021 academic year, Nova SBE registered an unprecedented number of applications from 70 countries. This list is topped by Portuguese, German, Italian, French, and Austrian students, followed by applicants from countries such as Brazil, Spain, India, and China.

Despite the intense feeling of uncertainty caused by the current pandemic, the school presents an exceptional result representing a growth of 32 % towards the previous academic year. The international programs of the International Master’s in Finance and the International Master’s in Management, both of them well placed in the world ranking of the prestigious Financial Times, are the programs with the highest number of applications (a growth of 65 % and 80 % respectively).

Daniel Traça, Dean of Nova SBE, highlights the satisfaction of seeing the school’s academic degrees attract so many applications and states that “the exponential growth of applications, namely from international students and given the current pandemic, shows that the ecosystem that Nova SBE has been building is valued by our applicants. It also shows how it attracts even more interest and projection to what is Nova SBE’s contribution to the country’s and even Europe’s development.”

Nova SBE closed the Master’s applications on June 15 and is currently selecting which candidates will be part of the school’s bright new chapter.
