Nova School of Business & Economics and Spira – the company responsible for several renowned projects with a cultural heritage scope – joined forces and prepared a unique course, which intends to impact the way we value our cultural heritage. Given the community’s growing attention regarding heritage, the need for this asset to be submitted to good management practices became evident, which is why they decided to create the first Cultural Heritage Management course, intended for executives, in Portugal. The first edition of this program, which is also sponsored by the Millennium BCP Foundation, is set to run from February 16th to June 22nd.

This pioneer executive training in Cultural Heritage Management gathers national and international specialists from different areas relating to Cultural Heritage, ranging from museums, monuments, and also territory projects. Pedro Gadanho (Director of MAAT – Museum of Art Architecture and Technology), João Falcato (Director of the Lisbon Oceanarium), and Thibault Manchon (Director of Cultival) are some of the chosen speakers. The program also has renowned professionals from Communication, Marketing and Media such as João Luís Ribeiro and Carlos Coelho.

The executive training in Cultural Heritage Management is intended for people who are looking to develop skills in the Cultural Heritage area – which is still traditionally focused on the public sphere - but also want an innovative private management side, being aware of the economics spectrum that resides in these assets. The course thus intends to prepare executives on the job and give them the necessary knowledge and insight applicable to this cultural resource.
