Nova School of Business & Economics (Nova SBE) was officially selected to be part of the 2020-2021 Champions Cycle, a program in which several institutions are committed to working collaboratively to promote thought, and active leadership, knowledge sharing, and the six principles for which the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) are known.

PRME was created in 2007 by six Deans, University Presidents, and official representatives of leading business schools and academic institutions. It is a platform in which all those involved follow the UN’s Global Compact recommendation, promoting activities that address potential barriers to the broad-scale implementation of sustainability principles. 

In 2013, the year when Nova SBE officially became a member, PRME created a program in which the participating institutions are committed to advanced tasks and game-changing projects that respond to the systemic challenges faced by the PRME community, as well as to critical issues identified by the United Nations and the UN Global Compact. 

In 2020, Nova SBE officially became one of the participating institutions of PRME’s fourth Champions cycle – also known as the 2020-2021 Champions Cycle – confirming its pledge to, over the next two years, transform business and management education in support of the SDG. 

This cycle’s mission focuses on thought and action leadership, knowledge sharing, and peer-learning with the aim of future-proofing participating institutions and demonstrating the impact of their sustainability efforts.

Daniel Traça, Dean of Nova SBE, stated that “Nova SBE is committed to the Six PRME Principles and to taking transformative action towards the integration of the Sustainable Development Goals across the curriculum, research, and partnerships. We are open to sharing our journey, challenges, and learnings within the PRME Champions group, as well as learning from others, with the aim of future-proofing our institution and demonstrating the impact of our sustainability efforts.”
