The QS World University Rankings 2020, released on September 26, have distinguished Nova SBE’s Master’s in Management and Master’s in Finance and its supranational CEMS Master’s in International Management placing it once again as the #1 business school in Portugal. The QS World University Ranking is the annual publication by Quacquarelli Symonds, which analyzed a total of 129 Master’s in Management programs from 28 countries and 156 Master’s in Finance programs from 34 countries.

The QS World University Ranking 2020 placed Nova SBE’s Master’s in Management 37th and its Master’s in Finance 43rd, globally. In an increasingly competitive context, the CEMS Master’s in International Management remains in 8th position for the third consecutive year.

QS World University Ranking considers the weighting of five evaluation criteria of the different programs, namely Employability, Alumni Outcomes, Value for Money, Thought Leadership and Diversity, formulated from information from the business schools themselves, their Alumni and public lists of Alumni notability. The Master’s in Management and in Finance at Nova SBE excelled in Employability and Thought Leadership. Thought Leadership is the criteria that is provided by other business schools on which institutions are conducting avant-garde research.

Daniel Traça, Dean of Nova SBE, reflects “our number one position in Portugal, top 45 in both management and finance worldwide is testament to the investment made in a very competitive international market. Notably, by placing 100% of our graduates within six months and our leading research recognized internationally by other peers. We remain conscious of the need to keep improving, keep evolving and keep innovating in a world where other schools are also becoming more competent and competitive.”

Catherine da Silveira, Academic Director of the CEMS Master’s in International Management at Nova SBE, points out “in all rankings, the CEMS Alliance Master’s in International Management stands out as one of the top 10 Master’s in International Management in the world. We will continue to invest in the skills and tools of the future that go beyond academia and that will surely contribute to the development of our societies.”

Melissa Prado, Academic Director of the Master’s in Finance at Nova SBE, reinforces “we are delighted to consolidate the position of the Master's degree in finance among the best in the world.
