Between February 19th and 23rd, another edition of Economia Viva will take place – an annual conference panel with renowned guests, which intends to encourage the discussion and reflection of some of the most pressing Economic issues of nowadays.

Organized by Nova Nova School of Business & Economics’ Students Union and by the Nova Economics Club (NEC) since 2016, this is a unique event aimed at fostering and developing a critical economic thinking. Thus, several conferences with Nova SBE professors and national and international speakers are organized in order to bring forward important debates and different ideas on the topics at hand to help society reflect on them and, most importantly, young economists think about their future responsibilities. With only two editions held so far, it welcomed more than 40 speakers, from policymakers to well-known researchers, and had more than 1000 guests, among which were students, teachers, and international speakers, from outside Nova SBE’s community.

The 3rd edition of Economia Viva will have, this year, national and international economists, as well as policymakers and representatives from well-known companies, whom will discuss important subjects about Economics and Politics. “Europe”, “Democracy”, or “Future in a jobless market” are some of the topics up for discussion. So far, personas such as Mário Centeno, André Sapir, Markus Jäntti, João Vasconcelos, Maria Luís Albuquerque, Daniel Traça – Nova SBE’s Dean – Professor Susana Peralta, Professor José Tavares and Professor Ana Gouveia have all confirmed their presence. The schedule bellow shows all the conferences scheduled so far.
