Campus

COVID OUT

The school is prepared to welcome the entire Nova SBE community safely and in compliance with all health standards, as we have been awarded the “COVID-OUT” stamp (COVID OUT - Grupo ISQ – Portuguese version only). This certification is awarded by ISQ (a Portuguese entity that ensures quality control in many sectors) and ensures that the processes that allow the control of transmission of SARS-CoV-2 are effective. It also certifies that all locations on campus are safe by monitoring and implementing the campus reopening/back-to-normal plan.

Campus accessibility

Pedestrian access to the campus will be made through the two entrances – Hovione Atrium or EDP Plaza. Elevators will be exclusive for people with reduced mobility. The stairs should be the first option. The campus has many signs indicating the best practices regarding circulation.

Access to the Via Verde Parking is working as per usual. Visitors should look for access to Zone A in the parking, which leads to the Hovione Atrium, where the Welcome Desk is located.

Campus Services

Nova SBE faculty, staff, and students can freely use the common spaces to study and work if the campus’ maximum capacity (now strictly reduced) is respected.  Group work and meetings are not advised, considering the need to always maintain social distancing.
Campus circulation is to be prioritized for class and exam attendance. To protect our community's health (students, faculty, staff, and partners who must use our campus daily), the school does not encourage campus permanence as a workgroup, study, or meeting space.

During the lockdown, access to campus is only allowed in very exceptional circumstances and subject to approval by the Dean.

Additional study spaces will be announced each month.

During the lockdown, there will be no extra study rooms as the access to campus is only allowed in special circumstances.

Except during full lockdown periods, the Teresa e Alexandre Soares dos Santos Library will be open with a reduced capacity and only for the Nova SBE community. There will not be free access to books. You will need to request them to staff. All the returned books will be quarantined for at least three days before they can be requested again.

Access to the Teresa e Alexandre Soares dos Santos Library during exam season will be announced when relevant.
Computer terminals – Computer terminals at the Teresa e Alexandre Soares dos Santos Library will remain accessible. You will have disinfectant wipes to disinfect all the objects before and after use. With this, we want you to feel comfortable about the disinfection of the objects you use.

During the lockdown, the Teresa e Alexandre Soares dos Santos Library will be open for book requests only. Requests must be sent via email to library@novasbe.pt, and students will be able to pick up the books on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at a scheduled time. For returns, students should drop the books at the Welcome Desk, from Monday to Friday, 8.00 am - 8.00 pm. Check the  Teresa e Alexandre Soares dos Santos Library’s website for details on the schedule.

We have implemented a queue management system (nafila.pt) all the food services, where you can register and receive an alert three numbers before your turn. Access it here.

Bringing home-cooked meals and having lunch in the Main Deck’s food court area is also an option, as long as you always keep a safe distance. Microwaves are spread in different areas to avoid gatherings.
