Deciding to pursue a PhD is a big commitment and an investment in your future. At Nova SBE we know the importance of equal opportunities and want to make sure that no student is excluded from higher education due to financial restrictions.

Nova SBE offers fellowships and job opportunities with partners to make your PhD as straightforward as possible.

Nova SBE Research Fellowships

Nova SBE offers fellowships to the best candidates selected to start their Ph.D. in our school. The fellowship grants candidates a living stipend from 1200€ up to 1400€ and covers 90 % of the tuition fee. The duration can be from 1 year to 4 years.

Students with Nova SBE fellowships actively look for funding opportunities and are invited to apply to the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) - the Portuguese governmental entity that supports research in science, technology and innovation in all areas of knowledge.

Tuition Fees

The tuition fees are 3000 euros per academic year (1500 each semester).

Students with Nova SBE Research Fellowships have their tuition fees reduced by 90% in the first year. In the following years, the reduction can be up to 90% of the tuition fee depending on academic merit. Academic merit is defined through the analysis of performance relative to the program requirements for each year.
