News | 25 May 2023 How to Create Value in Public Policies Using Microdata

Yesterday, Pedro Martins, Professor at Nova SBE and researcher at the Nova SBE Economics of Education Knowledge Center, hosted a session about the value of microdata for public policies. This session took place at Nova SBE, in the context of the Sustainable Value Creation Summit 2023.

Spanning from the public to the private sectors, the guest speakers were Jaisso Vautero, from the MyMentor.pt online platform, Cristina Faro from the Institute for Employment and Vocational Training (IEFP), Maria João Morgado Costa from the Ministry of Justice and Nuno Rodrigues from the Directorate-General for Statistics of Education and Science (DGEEC).

They discussed the importance of having an increasingly more accurate assessment of the realities and target populations of each project and work field, through access to microdata, and how that allows for the creation of more pertinent public policies.

We thank Pedro Martins for the initiative and all the speakers for their contributions.
