Science Outreach | 08 July 2020 Nova SBE/VISÃO survey: only a quarter of the Portuguese intend to take vacations

According to data from the Nova SBE/VISÃO survey, only a quarter of the Portuguese intend to take vacations this summer. About 50% remain in isolation and intend to maintain the restrictions associated with family reunions. Regarding the prospects for the summer of the lowest income group, 70% did not even plan to take a vacation, against 30% of the highest income group. In the tenth week of analysis, the Nova SBE/VISÃO survey shows some changes in the habits of the Portuguese. More than half intend to stop using public transport and about a third want to walk more. About four out of ten men return to the workplace, against just three out of ten women. The Nova SBE/VISÃO survey has now come to an end. Over the past few months, Nova SBE Health Economics & Management Knowledge Center has followed the behavior and concerns in Portugal, from the pandemic to the early days of lack of definition. Fear of contagion, confinement/lack of confidence, change in habits, teleworking and concern about the economic effects were the most used expressions during these 11 weeks of analysis.
