José Tavares, of the Nova SBE Economics for Policy Knowledge Center, with Vladimir Otrachshenko and Olga Popova, Senior Researchers, from the Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies and Graduates School of Economics and Management, Ural Federal University , concluded that there is a relationship between the hottest days and the acts of "extreme violence" that take place in homicides and other crimes. There are "intermediate factors" such as the consumption of alcohol, "which potentiates violence", mostly practiced by men.These are the intermediate factors that esearchers identified in the study published at the end of last year.
