Paulo Portas served as Portugal Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister, responsible for economic coordination, investment and exports between 2011 and end of 2015. He served also as Minister of Defense (2002-2005). He was leader of the center-right CDS-PP for 16 years, eight of them while in government. MP for eight terms. 

Paulo Portas is graduated in Law by Catholic University of Lisbon and taught History of Political Thought. He teaches Geo-economics and International Relations in Nova University, Emirates Diplomatic Academy (Abu Dhabi) and direct seminars on Economic Diplomacy for multinational corporations.

In 2016 he withdraw from party politics and he is back to private sector. He became Chairman of International Strategic Council of Mota-Engil, the largest Portuguese infrastructure company, for Latin America and Africa. Also member of the international board of Pemex Gas (Mexico) and deputy Chairman of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Founding partner of Vinciamo Consulting (strategic analysis and business intelligence), focused in advising business internationalization in Africa, Latin America, GCC and Asia. He is also regular commentator of international politics in the leading Portugal TV, and frequent speaker in international conferences.

Fluent in Portuguese, English, Spanish, French and Italian.
